Message from the Workshop Chairs
The aim of the Fourth IEEE Workshop on Pervasive Collaboration and Social Networking (PerCol 2013) is to bring together researchers from the areas of mobile and pervasive computing, social networking, and collaboration to explore the trends of this emerging area called Pervasive Social Computing (PSC). We slightly broaden the view on PSC by combining it with research from the area of collaboration like sharing applications or interaction in multi-player games.
The PerCol 2013 international program committee refereed 18 submitted full papers by their technical quality, originality and their relevance to the workshop theme. In total, this year’s workshop program includes 8 high quality papers that present cutting edge research. These works cover topics like energy-efficient proximity alerts, crowd-sourcing from social networks, presence, middleware for collaborative apps, or social context.
We would like to thank the members of the program committee for providing detailed reviews, and helping us to assemble an interesting program of high quality papers. We would also like to thank the PerCom organizers for supporting the workshop and assisting with its organization.
Finally, we thank all of the authors and workshop attendees for their contributions and participation.
