Changes to this outline will be announced in class and will also be noted
on the updates page. The first day of each week
is a Monday. At the end of each lecture, the instructor will be available
to meet with project teams.
Week #1 (01/13/25) - Kick-off and course overview
- Lecture: Course kick-off. Ground rules, expectations, and grading.
Sign-up for projects. Generating requirements as user stories. Completing
status reports and videos.

Week #2 (01/20/25) - Product Development and design processes
- Lecture: The product development process and engineering design process.
Waterfall and Agile development processes. Constraints and engineering
standards.

Week #3 (01/27/25) - Project planning, testing, team work, and other
- Lecture: Project planning and project management. Risk analysis and
mitigation. The test plan as a design of experiments. Elements of good
team work.

Week #4 (02/03/25) - Engineering communication and peer design review
- Lecture: Writing key documents (discussion of templates). Preparing for
the design review and final presentation (oral, written, and demo).

Week #5 (02/10/25) - Overflow and in-class work day
- Wrap-up of any unfinished topics and then an in-class work day where all
groups will meet with the course instructor.

Week #6 (02/17/25) - Peer Design Review day #1

Week #7 (02/24/25) - Peer Design Review day #2
